Your Child's First Visit in Sydney
What to expect at your child's first dental visit, and how to prepare.
About your child's first visit
A first visit is short and relaxed. The aim is for your child to feel comfortable, meet the team and let us take a quick look at their teeth.
Younger children can sit on a parent's lap. We go at their pace and never force treatment at a first visit.

How to prepare
- Book a time when your child is usually rested
- Read a picture book about visiting the dentist
- Keep the conversation positive and simple
- Bring a favourite toy

Frequently asked questions
How long is a first visit?

What if my child cries?
That is normal. We take things slowly and try again another day if needed.
Can siblings come along?
Yes, and seeing an older sibling have a check-up often helps.
